Sitges Live'19 by Creative Connexions

An Irish Arts Festival in Catalonia

From Thursday 24th – Sunday 27th October, the 7th annual Sitges Live festival will see musicians from Ireland travel to Sitges, for a four-day festival of internationally recognised Irish, Catalan and European musicians, artists and performers.

 

Irish performers at the festival include John Sheahan (The Dubliners), Paddy Casey, Jack O'Rourke, Lisa Lambe, Martin Tourish, Saoirse Casey, Mossie Martin, Sibeál Davitt, NoCrows and the Carbonell Sisters who will join Catalan multi-instrumentalist Joan Pinós, gralla player extraordinaire Enric Montsant, Anais Falcó (fiddle), Lluis Molas (percussion) and many more from the heart of the Sitges music scene. 

 

This year's festival will see three world premiere's of new Irish works, a high-energy dance show featuring dancer James Greenan from Riverdance and on Sunday 27th October dynamic folk orchestra NoCrows - a unique group with diverse musical roots, from Irish traditional to Latin rumba, classical, jazz, rock and Balkan music.

 

Throughout the weekend Els Jardins del Prado Sessions will showcase the exceptional festival musicians in one of Sitges' loveliest gardens in a series of outdoor day-time concerts that has become a firm festival favourite.

As well as the ticketed events Sitges Live '19 is proud to present more than 30 Fringe events including A Walk around Sitges, the Festival Parade, the renowned Human Towers, Sitges Sessions, a dynamic youth programme, Have a Go workshops, An Irish Writer in Catalonia by Jacqueline Hurtley,  Kaleidescope Youth Stage, Sitges Futbol Gaèlic, pop-up events at key Sitges locations, music and song with Armagh TAP, North Dublin Singers, Beaumont Comhaltas and Ossai Choir, 'In the Round' with Donal O'Connor and guests and much more.
